John Courtney is a serial entrepreneur, having founded 7 different businesses over a 40 year period, including a digital marketing agency, corporate finance and management consultancy. He has trained and worked as a Strategy Consultant, raised funding through Angels, VCs and crowd funding, and exited businesses via MBO, MBI and trade sale.

John is a Non-Executive Director/Board Advisor of 5 early stage businesess in London, Sydney and Bristol. He is also a Mentor at Microsoft Accelerator, Pitch@Palace, Techstars and SETsquared and was on the Advisory Board for Oracle’s Accelerator. John was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by techSPARK for his work with Scale-Ups last year.

John is also Founder and Chief Executive of Boardroom Advisors, which provides “real world” NEDs, Board Advisors and part-time MDs to Scale-Ups without a recruitment fee.
